Klasifikasi Istihza’ ‎ ‎ dalam Al-Qur’an (Analisis Al-Wujūh Wa An-Nazāir)

Abstract

This study discusses the interpretation of the meaning of the word istihza’ in the Qur’an using the approach of the science of al-Wujūh wa an-Nazāir. This science examines the phenomenon of one word having multiple meanings (al-Wujūh) and different words having similar meanings (an-Nazāir). The purpose of the study is to reveal the variations in the meaning of istihza’ and its synonyms in the context of the verses of the Qur’an, so as to provide a more comprehensive and contextual understanding of the meaning of the word. The research method used is a literature review and descriptive-analytical study of the verses of the Qur'an containing the word istihza’ and its synonyms. The results of the study show that istihza’ has various meanings, ranging from mockery, ridicule, to insults, which are influenced by the context of the verses. Furthermore, there are other words in the Quran that have different pronunciations but have nearly identical meanings, such as "sakhr," "lamz," "laghwu," and "tanabazu," which enrich the understanding of the meaning of istihza'. This study concludes that the "al-Wujūh wa an-Nazāir" approach is very effective in deepening the interpretation of the meaning of istihza', despite its many differences in meaning and synonyms. This approach makes an important contribution to the science of tafsir and helps Muslims understand the message of the Quran more accurately and contextually, particularly regarding attitudes to avoid in social interactions.
